Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has extended his condolences over the martyrdom of Brigadier General Abbas Nilforushan, the Deputy Commander for Operations of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
In a message issued on Tuesday, the Leader offered condolences on the martyrdom to the family and colleagues of the general at the IRGC, saying that “martyrdom in the path of God is a great honor.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also wished the top general’s family God’s blessings, as he hailed Nilforushan, who spent a lifetime raising the flag of Islam.
General Nilforushan was martyred in the psychopathic Israeli bombardment of southern Beirut on September 27 alongside Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Born in 1966 in the Iranian city of Isfahan, Nilforushan played a vital role within Iran’s IRGC, overseeing ground forces as the Deputy Commander for Operations.
The 58-year-old military leader began his military career in 1980 with the Basij before joining the IRGC. He joined the IRGC at a young age and steadily climbed the ranks.
The martyred general had a brilliant record of sincere endeavors in eight years of Iraq’s war of aggression against Iran and aiding the Resistance front against terrorism and Zionism.
Iran has vowed that the assassination of Nilforushan will not go unanswered.
